HISTORY

God started the Free Bible Ministry by using the founder of our spiritual family, Pastor Racquel Canlas.  She got born again through Word of God.  In 1979, she was baptized in the Holy Spirit and started to serve God in 1980. She became actively concerned that the good news of the Bible should be shared to others.  She observed that most of the time, people did not give importance to the Bible.  Because of this, while still working in a private corporation, she used almost all her salary and bonuses to buy Bibles and give it free to anyone whom the Holy Spirit led.  The ministry increased and increased, so that in 1983, she resigned from her job to serve the Lord fulltime.  That led to the establishment of our spiritual family, the Friends of Jesus Christ.

The Lord brought more and more people to the Friends of Jesus Christ who united with Pastor Racqy, with the ultimate purpose of hastening the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ through the Free Bible Ministry.

Last November 29, 1998, Pastor Racqy went home to be with our Lord in heaven.  To continue His ministry, God raised up two senior pastors: Pastor Vic Tigas Jr. and Pastor Lucie Peralta.

Today, many teams from FJC spiritual families in Manila, Pampanga, Isabela, Cagayan de Oro and Cotabato, go forth into all the country and abroad to give free copies of the Bible.  We have given more than 1,000,000 Bibles throughout the Philippines: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao under the leading and power of the Holy Spirit.
